As a Church of England (Voluntary Controlled) First School, Collective Worship is an important part of school life. Worship is based around the teaching of Christian values and we explore one value each half term. We share the teachings of Jesus and reflect on how he can guide us and support us in our daily lives.
We focus on eighteen values - Courage, Trust, Creativity, Justice, Forgiveness, Peace, Humility, Truth, Thankfulness, Compassion, Hope, Friendship, Generosity, Respect & Reverance, Wisdom, Service, Perserverance and Responsibility.
Our Core Values are: Respect, Friendship, Hope, Thankfulness, Courage and Peace.
We have a Worship Team made up of Year 4 pupils, who support the act of Collective Worship and plan at least one whole Act of Worship each half term.
We build on and develop Cllective Worship through classroom worship, where the children are given the opportunity to reflect and discuss how Christian values relate to them and their experiences.
We also have strong links with our parish church, St Paul's, and visit there for worship and to celebrate important times in the Christian calendar. Father Malcolm Lockey also visits school regularly to lead Worship and to talk to the children about their R.E. topics.
